According to Sabrina Corbell, her son, John, was diagnosed with lymphoma and has started chemotherapy treatments. Sabrina tells ABC 33/40's Patrick Thomas that John was admitted to the hospital six months to the day of his heart transplant.
”It’s just a whirlwind right now. Never thought he would be going through cancer also. He is very strong and determined. This will be another part of his testimony for sure," Sabrina says.
The surrounding community will be hosting a 5K event on November 10th at Sulligent High School. Applications can be picked up at the school, and there is a $25.00 registration fee. All money raised will go to help the Corbell family, as well as several other families in the area. The deadline for applications is November 2.
In 2017, John and Sabrina sat down with Patrick Thomas to discuss his need for a heart transplant. John went on the have the life-changing operation the following April.
