During February Heart Month, the Beef Checkoff is educating health influencers and consumers. South Dakota Beef Industry Council Director of Nutrition and Consumer Information Holly Swee says they’re getting current research out about lean beef’s role in a heart healthy diet.
She says the Beef Checkoff is partnering with the American Heart Association to correct misinformation about heart health and nutrition.
Swee says the beef industry has nine lean beef cuts available for consumers that will help them with their dietary and health needs.
Swee says they’ll be sharing beef’s story at Rapid City Heart Ball on February 23 and at the Sioux Falls Go Red for Women event on March 5.
