Chief executive officer of Sacred Heart Health System named

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WEAR) —

Ascension has selected Tom VanOsdol as the chief executive officer of Sacred Heart Health System as well as St. Vincent's Healthcare in Jacksonville.

VanOsdol will serve as chief executive for all Ascensions of Florida facilities, which include seven hospitals and regional physician networks operated by St. Vincent's and Sacred Heart.

The promotion to CEO at Sacred Heart is part of a restructuring within Ascension that unites its facilities in Florida as a single Ministry Market. The creation of the Ascension Florida organization became effective May 1.

VanOsdol will work with Florida and national Ascension leaders to develop organizational structures and services best to achieve Ascensions mission of serving all people with special attention to the poor and vulnerable.
