BRATTLEBORO — Celebrating National Heart Health Month, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital will host a free two-part heart health lecture series this Tuesday and on Feb. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the BMH Brew Barry Conference Center at 17 Belmont Ave.
Attendees will learn how to improve their cardiovascular health from local experts and will enjoy heart healthy refreshments and take-home recipes.
On Tuesday, Maplewood Family Practice Nurse Practitioner Johanna Murphy will speak about how women can live heart-healthy lives. She will be joined by BMH Registered Dietician Carrie Quimby, who will share tips for healthy food choices and what to look for in grocery stores and restaurants.
On Feb. 19, BMH Pharmacist Meghan Monahan will discuss prescription medications, their side effects, and how to reduce the risk of future health issues.
BMH Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator Jeff Harr will explain how to make time and stay motivated for simple fitness routines.
They will be joined by BMH Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Assistant Casey Blust, who will review physical, mental, and emotional benefits of stress management methods.
