A Book Is Born

The sculptor and his chisel, Free statues trapped in stone.
I get these inspirations - Demanding to be known,
So, keep in the subconscious, A squirmy, tangled mess,
Defy articulation. A challenge, I confess.
So many ways of saying ideas in my head,
Perhaps I should be doing something else instead.
Quite often, I am stricken with thoughts I can't resist.
I force them into jingles that have a comic twist.
The task was really daunting, but after friendly taunting
My book is now completed.
